Dewulf partnership with Mahindra
We are happy to inform you that our company has made an agreement with Mahindra. We have signed a licensing agreement with this major Indian manufacturer of farming equipment so we can also bring our renowned potato planting technology to the Indian market. A co-branded Mahindra Dewulf potato planter has been developed based on our CP22. The cup planter is currently being field tested in India. Depending on the success of this cooperation, the scope might be broadened to other machines.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M Ltd) is part of the USD 19 billion Mahindra Group, headquartered in Mumbai (India). The company’s President for the Farm Equipment Sector, Rajesh Jejurikar, came to Agritechnica in order to sign the agreement with our CEO René Boeijenga. Mr. Jejurikar commented that he is delighted to be able to bring the latest planting technology to potato farmers in India thanks to his agreement with us.
Why India you may wonder? India is the 2nd largest producer of potatoes in the world. Each year over 2 million hectares of potato is planted in India, yielding a production of about 40 million tonnes. We noticed the ever-increasing focus towards potato processing in India and are convinced the demand for quality potato in this market will go up. This will require the local Indian farmers to use better machinery for potato planting. Such as our planters.
