Association Hai cu noi în Horă starts workshop Joyful Teaching in Romania for teachers of Braşov, Covasna, Harghita and Mureş

17th of May 2017 – Today Hora opens its application process for Romanian state primary school teachers. 24 primary state school teachers and counsellors can participate to the second edition of the summer school workshop that will take place from 10th until 14th of July 2017 in Izvoare (Harghita).

“After last year’s enormous success, we launch today our open call, inviting participants to submit their application before the 7th of June. There are 24 places available for motivated participants from Braşov, Covasna, Harghita and Mureş. The selection process will be rigorous,” points out Ilse Baekelandt-Luyten, spouse of the Belgian Ambassador in Romania and Honorary President of Hora. “We are looking for teachers and counsellors who are highly motivated, who have a proven track record in social implication and who have a working level knowledge of English, since the workshops will be held by foreign specialists in English. We are looking for ‘leaders’ who will carry out afterwards the newly learned skills in their professional environment.”

Hora is working under patronage of the Embassy of Belgium in Romania, with the support of the Romanian Ministry of Education and the Romanian Institute for Research in Education.

Hora has invited 3 experienced Belgian trainers of the Educational Academy of Belgium, specialized in giving courses of personal development to teachers. “The program of the 5 days workshop is tailor made for the Romanian public,” explains Bruno Van den Bossche, general manager of the Educational Academy.

The trainers will work on 3 themes that have given great results to teachers and counselors in the rest of Europe: self-care (meaning a healthy inner balance between your capacity to carry and the burden you are carrying), self-acceptance (meaning you have to learn to accept that you fail sometimes) and discovery of the inner child inside of you (in order to understand better the child in front of you in classroom). The plenary evening sessions encompass the themes Movement and dance, Stories and archetypes, Sound and voice. Working techniques used during the workshops are awareness, breath, body, clay and crayons, improvisational theatre, paint, pastels and games.

“Carmeuse is a company who wishes to contribute to a better world. We support the development of the educational system towards a sustainable direction, through our involvement in personal and professional development programs, encouraging the participation of teachers and counselors in the communities where Carmeuse operates. It is the second year in which we continue the partnership with Hora Association and we believe in the long term impact of this program,” confirms Lorena Felder, responsible for Carmeuse Foundation in Romania, the major sponsor of the summer school Hora.

“For VPK Packaging Romania and its association The share project, supporting the Romanian educational system, is a natural choice,” states general manager Bart Dobbelaere. “By consolidating the inner strength of the teachers, the learning process of the children on the whole will benefit and the employability of our future employees will grow.”

Izvoare is a village in Harhgita county, close to wildlife park Ivo. Izvoare hosts the beautiful villa Honor, where the participants will stay, meals will be served and training sessions will take place.

The 24 participants will be followed up intensively by Hora during the next school year. The summer academy is a long term initiative, with every year a different region in Romania to be visited.

Association Hai cu noi în Horă is a Romanian non-governmental organization developing tools for the personal development of Romanian state school teachers and state scholar counsellors in close collaboration with foreign psychological specialists. Besides working specifically on personal development, the annual summer academy also aims to connect the participants closer to their roots by working exclusively in meaningful places like this year Izvoare. The association Hai cu noi în Horă is working under the patronage of the Belgian Embassy in Romania and in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Romania, the Institutul de Stiinte ale Educatie, the Centre Judeţene de Resurse şi Asistenă Psihipedagogică – CJRAE of the judeti Covasna, Mureş, Harghita and Braşov. Hora is funded by Absolute Jobs, BEROBA, Carmeuse Romania, Dacris, H.Essers Romania, FinderFinancials Romania, SAB Miller, Team Industries and VPK Packaging Romania. On top of that, Hora is benefiting from the supportive partnership of the Educatieve Academie.
